Rend Lake College Receives Education Grant

U.S. Congressman Bill Enyart (D-IL) announced today that Rend Lake College has received a $449,960 grant through the Strengthening Institutions Program from the U.S. Department of Education.

The Strengthening Institutions Program is intended to help eligible Institutions of Higher Learning expand their capacity to serve low income students. Rend Lake College will use the funds from this award to expand and improve the health studies programs. Included in this will be a new Anatomy and Physiology lab, improvements to curricula, establishing a new Health Studies Success Center and other initiatives.

"Rend Lake College continues to improve and expand to meet its mission of providing quality education and career training for Southern Illinois students," remarked Enyart. "This grant helps provide resources to further this mission. I was pleased to make this announcement and I look forward to the new facilities and programs."
