Pete Sessions Responds to Secretary Kerry Signing the UN Arms Trade Treaty

Press Release

Date: Sept. 25, 2013
Location: Washington, DC

U.S. Congressman Pete Sessions (R-TX-32), Chairman of the House Rules Committee and a Member of House Republican Leadership, today released the following statement regarding Secretary of State John Kerry's signing of the United Nations Arms Trade Treaty:

"Secretary Kerry's decision today once again proves that the Obama Administration has a fundamental contempt for the right to keep and bear arms. The United Nations should have absolutely no say on what firearms law-abiding Texans can own. I call on the Senate to exercise its constitutional duty and stand up against this treaty that could lead to laws which violate the Second Amendment."
