In the wake of the tragedy at the Washington Navy Yard, U.S. Senator Debbie Stabenow joined the National Council for Behavioral Health for their annual Capitol Hill Day, where she spoke about the importance of making sure people who need help can access quality, affordable treatment. Stabenow authored the Excellence in Mental Health Act to address this critical need.
"We shouldn't be treating mental health differently than physical health," Stabenow said. "The cost of inaction is just too great. We need to make sure people can get the behavioral health services they need."
