Governor Kitzhaber today issued the following statement on the launch of Cover Oregon, the state's online health insurance marketplace:

"As Cover Oregon opens its doors today, we are well down the road to improving the health of Oregonians, improving the quality of care they receive, and reducing costs. Cover Oregon offers consumers and small businesses more choice, competition, value, and transparency when they shop for health coverage and will help many Oregonians access insurance who have never had coverage before. This is a big day for our state and the nation, and a new era for delivering high-quality health care to Oregonians."
