GRASSLEY COMMENTS ON THE CONFIRMATION OF CONDOLEEZZA RICE SECRETARY OF STATE

The following is a comment from Sen. Chuck Grassley regarding the confirmation of Dr. Condoleezza Rice to be Secretary of State. She was confirmed by a vote of 85 - 13.

"Dr. Rice is well qualified for this position and clearly has the confidence of the President. She has developed relationships with foreign leaders during the last 25 years that will help her continue to develop and implement policies that will set the course for a safer, better world for future generations. Her nomination deserved the kind of strong support it received in the United States Senate."
