Continuing her efforts to support programs that help New Hampshire workers develop the skills and innovative thinking necessary for good jobs in the 21st century economy, Governor Maggie Hassan announced today that five companies will be awarded job training grants to help them train up to 719 workers in new skills.
The job training grants total $173,860. The companies contributed matching funds -- with one company giving more than the required one-to-one match -- bringing the total funds for training workers to $397,870.
"I am proud to announce these critical grants to help New Hampshire's workers develop skills for good jobs at growing businesses," Governor Hassan said. "New Hampshire's Job Training Fund is a valuable resource that has helped prepare thousands of workers for high-quality jobs in the 21st century economy. We must continue to focus on job training and higher education in order to develop a highly skilled workforce that will attract innovative businesses, help existing ones grow, and create jobs that can support a strong middle class."
