Larson on Student Loan Compromise

Statement

Today, Congressman John B. Larson released the following statement on the passage of H.R. 1911, The Bipartisan Student Loan Certainty Act of 2013:

"I applaud the House for acting to lower student loan interest rates before the start of the next school year. With national student loan debt climbing to over $1 trillion, students and their families are in urgent need of assistance following the rise in interest rates less than a month ago. While the fight to reduce student debt is far from over, this bipartisan legislation provides much needed relief for our students and their families.

"I commend Representative Joe Courtney for his leadership on this issue and look forward to continuing our efforts to lower the costs of higher education."
