Tipton Votes to Provide Resources for Troops, Maintain a Strong National Defense

Statement

Date: July 24, 2013
Location: Washington, DC
Issues: Defense

Today, Rep. Scott Tipton (R-CO) issued this statement following House passage of the FY 2014 Department of Defense Appropriations Act (H.R. 2397).

"Making sure that the United States is able to maintain a strong national defense is one of Congress' most important duties. America is the world's top military power because of our selfless and dedicated troops, as well as our access to the most advanced and effective military equipment available. This legislation ensures that America remains at the forefront of technological advances through research and development, training and production. These resources save American lives, and provide civilian jobs across the nation and in Colorado. This legislation also makes common sense spending reforms to cut down on bureaucracy without impacting our military's effectiveness, as well as ensures that our troops' needs are met both on the battlefield and at home with a well-deserved pay increase, and resources dedicated to providing top-of-the-line health care for those wounded in the line of duty."
