Congresswoman Cheri Bustos Welcomes President Obama's Visit To Galesburg, Focus On Jobs & Middle Class

Statement

Date: July 23, 2013
Location: Washington, DC

Today, Congresswoman Cheri Bustos (IL-17) released the following statement welcoming the news that President Obama will visit Illinois' 17th Congressional District tomorrow to talk about creating jobs here at home and growing the economy at Knox College in Galesburg:

"Creating good-paying jobs that stay here in Illinois and strengthening our economy are my number one priority. I'm pleased that President Obama will be visiting Galesburg tomorrow to talk with the hardworking people of Illinois about his plan to fight for the middle class. Our region has been hard hit by the upside down economic policies that put special interests and the very wealthy ahead of working families. I ran for office to do my part to help reverse this trend and to fight to put middle class families - like those in Galesburg and across Illinois - first again in Washington. I look forward to continuing to work in partnership with President Obama and all those who share my commitment to strengthening our middle class, boosting American manufacturing and building a better economic future for our country."

Bustos plans on attending President Obama's event tomorrow in Galesburg.
