Enzi Statement on Continued Obamacare Delays and Exemptions

Location: Washington, DC

U.S. Senator Mike Enzi, R-Wyo., issued the following statement today regarding media reports that the Obama Administration is delaying another major provision of the Affordable Care Act.

"This week, media reports have shown that hidden "in a maze of legal and bureaucratic language" on the Department of Labor website is another exemption from Obamacare for some insurance companies so they won't have to comply with limits on what they can charge people.

"If you are keeping score so far the Administration has given a break to businesses, Congress and insurance companies, but not to individual Americans. This continued disregard of the law by the Administration are for purely political purposes and seek to hide the worst parts of this law until after the 2014 elections.

"I've said from the start that this law was unfair, too complex and unworkable. It's even more critical that we stop it now in the light of the Administration's attempts to circumvent and delay all of the unworkable and politically damaging provisions.

"I will continue my efforts to repeal, defund, and dismantle this bad law piece-by-piece. America needs a workable healthcare system and Obamacare certainly is not it."
