Today, U.S. Senator Richard Blumenthal (D-Conn.) chaired the Judiciary Committee's nomination hearing for Jeff Meyer and four other judicial nominees. After the hearing, Blumenthal and U.S. Senator Chris Murphy (D-Conn.) issued the following statement on Meyer's candidacy:

"Jeff Meyer's answers at today's nomination hearing confirmed what we both already knew: He is a brilliant lawyer who will make an exceptional federal judge. His experience litigating civil and criminal cases, as well as his human rights work in Nicaragua and teaching experience at Connecticut's most prestigious universities, distinguish him as an outstanding public servant and professional. We will work hard to ensure that this well-qualified lawyer gets the vote he deserves and is confirmed to the federal bench."
