Governor Steve Beshear is encouraging small, women and minority-owned businesses to register as vendors with the Kentucky Office of Procurement Services. These businesses can participate in events throughout August that focus on developing minority owned businesses and establishing stronger supplier diversity efforts for public entities and private companies.
"The Commonwealth does millions of dollars in business with thousands of companies, both large and small," said Gov. Beshear. "Anytime we can support small, women and minority owned businesses, these businesses will grow, provide jobs and contribute to our state's economy."
The first event is today and will kick off a series of upcoming events that will focus on educating minority businesses on resources and opportunities with government. These events are open to the general public as well as businesses.
