Congressman Tom Price, M.D. (GA-06) issued the following statement in response to the July jobs report.
"Today's jobs report comes on the heels of the latest economic growth numbers that show an economy still underperforming and unable to help more Americans achieve the type of financial security they need for themselves and their families. While President Obama is spending his time touring the country delivering speeches, House Republicans are keeping our focus on actually producing solutions that empower citizens because there are so many avenues that we can take to improve the well-being of the American people and the prospects for economic opportunity.
"In the past few months, the House has passed solutions to expand job creation through more American-made energy, to balance the nation's checkbook, and to empower students, parents, and communities to improve education. This week alone, we are passing several pieces of legislation to protect the rights of American citizens and improve our economy. Our solutions would provide needed transparency and hold the bureaucracy in Washington accountable to the American people.
"We'll vote on a bill today to keep the IRS from enforcing the president's health care law -- taking an agency that has abused the trust of the American people out of our personal health care decisions while barring it from imposing a litany of new taxes, rules, and regulations that will destroy jobs. This is all part of a positive agenda focused on empowering American families and breaking down barriers to job creation and economic opportunity."
