U.S. Congressman Blake Farenthold Announces Grant for Runway Extension at Corpus Christi International Airport

Today, Corpus Christi International Airport was awarded an $18 million Department of Transportation Grant for runway expansion. U.S. Congressman Blake Farenthold (TX-27), a member of the Transportation and Infrastructure Committee and Subcommittee on Highways and Transit, applauded the announcement.
"This is exciting news for Corpus Christi and the Coastal Bend. The expansion of runway 13/31 will make the airport safer for travelers and the naval aviators who train there," said Congressman Farenthold.
Aside from extending the runway, the grant will also be used to extend parts of the taxiway and rehabilitate parts of the apron.
