Congressman Tim Griffin (AR-02) issued the following statement after being named a "Superhero' by the National Down Syndrome Society (NDSS)
"As a member of the Congressional Down Syndrome Caucus, I am proud to be an advocate for those with Down syndrome, including fighting for increased research funding and greater opportunities. Friends of mine have a son who has experienced numerous medical difficulties, but he's a wonderful blessing to his family and everyone who encounters him. I'm honored to accept this award on behalf of the real heroes who live with Down syndrome every day."
The NDSS is a nonprofit organization committed to being the national advocate for the value, acceptance, and inclusion of people with Down syndrome. One in every 691 babies in the United States is born with Down syndrome.
