Congressman Joe Kennedy today announced the Plainville Fire Department received a grant totaling $85,410 under the Staffing for Adequate Fire and Emergency Response (SAFER) Grants Program.
"Firefighters serve as the backbone of any community in which they serve. They answer the call day or night, rain or shine, to keep our families safe," said Congressman Kennedy. "This SAFER grant will help improve the operations and safety of the Plainville Fire Department, and I congratulate Chief Ted Joubert and his department on earning this award."
About SAFER Grants:
The Staffing for Adequate Fire and Emergency Response Grants (SAFER) was created to provide funding directly to fire departments and volunteer firefighter interest organizations to help them increase or maintain the number of trained, "front line" firefighters available in their communities.
