U.S. Senator Roy Blunt (Mo.) released the following statement today regarding the Obama Administration's withdrawal of the White River National Blueway designation.

"The Obama Administration's attempt to establish a new federal designation without the approval of Congress or public input is absolutely unacceptable," said Blunt. "The stakeholders and community members deserve more transparency from their government. I'm pleased the Obama Administration has withdrawn this designation."

The announcement came after Blunt recently joined eight of his congressional colleagues from Missouri and Arkansas in sending a letter calling for answers regarding the Obama Administration's designation of the White River as a National Blueway.
