Rep. Yoho Sends Letter to Senator Reid Urging Vote on Keystone Pipeline

Congressman Ted Yoho (FL-03) sent a letter today to U.S. Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-NV) urging him to follow through with a vote in the U.S. Senate on authorization for construction of the Keystone XL Pipeline.

The letter was delivered just moments after President Obama stated that he would authorize construction only if the pipeline met further environmental tests in addition to the 15,000 pages of review the project has already undergone.

In the letter, signed by seven of his colleagues, Congressman Yoho said,

"At a time when our constituents think of Washington as a broken record of partisan bickering and false promises, we have a real opportunity to show Congress coming together to act on their behalf."

The House passed H.R. 3, the Northern Route Approval Act, on May 22nd. At the time, Congressman Yoho remarked that the "Keystone XL Pipeline is the Transcontinental Railroad of our time," and that it would yield 20,000 American jobs.
