U.S. Senator Kelly Ayotte (R-NH) released the following statement regarding the Congressional Budget Office (CBO) analysis of the bipartisan immigration reform bill the Senate is currently debating.
"The CBO's report affirms that the immigration bill is both fiscally responsible and pro-growth, significantly reducing the deficit over the next two decades and increasing economic growth and productivity. Today's announcement is further evidence that we can - and should - reform our broken immigration system to meet our economic needs and address our serious fiscal challenges."
The CBO estimates that the immigration bill will significantly reduce the deficit by about $197 billion over the next 10 years, and by approximately $700 billion between 2024 and 2033.
