Governor Chris Christie Marks Flag Day In New Jersey

Location: Trenton, NJ

Governor Chris Christie today issued the following statement in celebration of the 97th anniversary of President Woodrow Wilson's Flag Day proclamation:

"Throughout our nation's history, the flag of the United States has stood for liberty and justice and symbolized the ideals and values upon which our nation was founded," said Governor Christie. "Through the battles of foreign wars to the attacks of September 11th, the American flag has lifted our nation's spirits and honored the men and women who protect our country both at home and abroad. I encourage all New Jerseyans to proudly display the "stars and stripes' today and every day as we celebrate the 97th anniversary of Flag Day."

Governor Christie also proclaimed June 14, 2013 as "Flag Day" throughout New Jersey.
