Mr. Mike Bergmeier, President of Shield Agricultural Equipment in Hutchinson, KS, is set to testify before a U.S. House of Representatives hearing tomorrow in Washington, D.C. Mr. Bergmeier will offer testimony about the company before the House Small Business Committee, of which Congressman Tim Huelskamp (R-Kansas) is a member. Congressman Huelskamp invited Mr. Bergmeier to come to Washington and participate. The hearing, entitled Made in the USA: Stories of American Manufacturers, will feature a number of representatives from manufacturers nationwide and highlight the reemergence and accomplishments of small American manufacturers. It is designed to coincide with the 50th Annual National Small Business Week.
Congressman Huelskamp made the following statement:
"Mike Bergmeier is a fantastic representative of the small business owners in Kansas. I look forward to hearing his testimony about the success of Shield Agricultural Equipment, as well as his insights on how the Federal government can help the private sector create a robust economic recovery. Over-taxation and over-regulation are making it extremely difficult for small businesses to create more good paying jobs. If we shrink big government, we can grow the economy."
