Today, Congressman Peter Roskam (IL-06) released the following statement on the passage of H.R. 3, the Northern Route Approval Act:
"Today, the House continued its efforts to strengthen the economy and create jobs by passing the Northern Route Approval Act. It removes the bureaucratic and legal roadblocks that delay the Keystone XL Pipeline project that will create 20,000 new jobs, lower energy costs and decrease America's reliance of volatile foreign countries. Naturally, the American people already overwhelmingly support the Keystone XL Pipeline project. Now, the last piece to the puzzle is for President Obama to approve the project after stalling for 1,700 days and finding no environmental impact in 15,000 pages of reviews. This is the exact type of low-hanging fruit that he campaigns on that both parties can get behind. So, will the president finally approve the Keystone XL Pipeline project for middle class jobs and safe, more affordable energy?"
