Rep. Phil Gingrey voted to protect American taxpayers, strengthen our economy, and increase government transparency. The Full Faith and Credit Act, which the House of Representatives passed today, ensures the United States will not default on its debt and requires the Secretary of the Treasury to provide a weekly accounting report to Congress. It also protects seniors and Americans with disabilities by prioritizing Social Security payments.
"This is a common sense plan that protect families, stabilizes financial markets, and demonstrates our commitment to fiscal responsibility. When we make a promise, we have to keep our word, " said Gingrey. "The Obama administration continues to govern one crisis at a time. This allows us to instead focus on cutting spending and putting our fiscal house in order. I will continue working to strengthen our economy and fighting for Georgians with every vote I take."
