Nia believes that the best way to create jobs in our community is to give small businesses the opportunity to succeed. In the Senate, she sponsored the New Jersey Micro Business Credit Act, which helps women-owned small businesses access capital and the tools they need to succeed. Nia has also sponsored legislation that makes New Jersey a better place to do business and makes it easier for companies to stay in state. Nia also agrees with President Obama that we have to ensure that people who work hard are able to make ends meet. She worked as part of the Senate leadership team to place a minimum wage increase on this year's ballot. Raising the minimum wage is the right thing to do, and strengthens New Jersey families.
