Rep Walberg Votes for Tax Accountability

Statement

Date: April 16, 2013
Location: Washington, DC
Issues: Taxes

Rep Walberg voted in favor of two pieces of legislation yesterday to restore accountability within our tax system.

H.R. 249, the Federal Employees Tax Accountability Act, would prevent severely tax delinquent personnel from working in the federal government. Similarly, H.R 882, the Contracting and Tax Accountability Act, bans tax delinquent companies from receiving new federal contracts.

"Millions of taxpayers have no trouble filing timely and accurate tax returns. Tax delinquents need to be held accountable for not paying their share. These bills will help bring greater accountability to Washington, but ultimately we must pass comprehensive tax reform to create a fairer, simpler tax system that will grow a healthier economy," commented Rep Walberg following the votes.
