McMorris Rodgers: Get Washington Out of the Way of Economic Growth

Statement

Date: May 3, 2013
Location: Washington, DC

House Republican Conference Chair Cathy McMorris Rodgers (R-WA) issued the following statement today following the release of the latest unemployment numbers from the Department of Labor:

"While 165,000 jobs were added this past month, today's job report indicates that the economy is still struggling. The Democrats who run Washington are hindering the expansion of our economy -- and hardworking Americans are paying the price because of it. In fact, new college graduates are facing the worst job market in last 50 years, with the unemployment rate among millennials more than double the national average. The economy isn't growing fast enough because the Democratic majority in Washington is standing in the way. That's why Republicans are committed to pro-growth solutions that will help young people and all Americans get back to work and make life easier for everyone."
