Klobuchar, Franken, Peterson, Walz, Nolan Announce Selection of Debra Crusoe to Top Minnesota Agriculture Post

U.S. Senator Amy Klobuchar and Al Franken and Representatives Collin Peterson, Tim Walz, and Rick Nolan today announced that Debra Crusoe has been selected to serve as Farm Service Agency (FSA) State Executive Director in Minnesota. Crusoe has 29 years of experience with the FSA. Since 2009, Crusoe has served as an FSA District Director working out of the Waite Park office.

"As an active farmer, Debra Crusoe understands the importance of investing in agriculture and rural communities to keep our state strong," Klobuchar said on behalf of the delegation members."With close to 30 years of service at the FSA, Debra has the knowledge and experience to be an effective advocate for Minnesota's agricultural producers. We're pleased that she has been selected for this important position and grateful to the members of the selection committee for their help and recommendations."

"Debra Crusoe will be a strong voice on behalf of our farmers and producers and the communities that depend on them," said Peterson, the ranking member on the House Agriculture Committee. "She's the right person for the job and we're confident she will serve Minnesota well."

Klobuchar formed a selection committee, led by former Congressman David Minge, to recommend experienced, qualified people for the position.

The USDA Farm Service Agency administers and manages farm commodity, credit, conservation, and disaster and loan programs as laid out by Congress through a network of federal, state and county offices. State FSA officials directly administer programs designed to improve the economic stability of the agricultural industry and to help farmers adjust production to meet demand.
