Keystone Pipeline Moves Forward in House Resources Committee

Press Release

Date: April 24, 2013
Location: Washington, DC

U.S. Representative Cynthia Lummis (R-Wyo) and fellow members of the House Natural Resources Committee voted to support the Keystone Pipeline with their passage of H.R. 3; the Northern Route Approval Act. The Resources Committee approval of construction of the Keystone XL Pipeline continues the advance of the bill in a fully open and transparent process. Final passage of the Keystone XL Pipeline by the House and the Senate would send a bill to President Obama that would create thousands of American jobs and infuse millions of dollars into American communities and the national economy.

"This is a common sense vote," Rep. Lummis said. "We have an opportunity to create thousands of jobs, to give a shot in the arm to communities in the West and Midwest, and to advance the cause of energy security. I'm confident my House colleagues understand the benefits this project and will support H.R. 3 when it is taken up by the full House, and I call on the Senate and the President to embrace this bill and move the pipeline forward."
