Bera Amendment Ensuring Recruitment of Vets for Cybersecurity Workforce Passes House

Press Release

Location: Washington, DC

Amendment part of Cybersecurity Enhancement Act
Earlier today, the U.S. House of Representatives passed the Cybersecurity Enhancement Act, which included an amendment from Representative Ami Bera that will ensure the recruitment of military veterans for our cybersecurity workforce. The bill will also help coordinate research and related activities conducted across the Federal agencies to better address evolving cyber threats.

Rep. Bera offered the following comment:

"We need to do everything we can to ensure our veterans' successful transition to civilian life, and many of them are some of our country's best computer specialists. I'm proud that my amendment will both help keep us safe, and help our returning heroes find new jobs. Our veterans served us, and now we must make sure that we serve them."
