Pete Sessions: President Obama's Unconstitutional NLRB Recess Appointments Are Causing Uncertainty for Businesses

Location: Washington, DC

U.S. Congressman Pete Sessions (R-TX), Chairman of the House Rules Committee, today released the following statement regarding House passage of H.R. 1120, the Preventing Greater Uncertainty in Labor-Management Relations Act of 2013:

"President Obama's unprecedented, unconstitutional recess appointments to the NLRB are causing economic and regulatory discord at a time when American businesses already feel far too much uncertainty in the marketplace. The NLRB continues to impose an avalanche of red tape on businesses despite the fact that these new burdensome mandates may ultimately be overturned -- unnecessarily wasting taxpayer dollars on compliance efforts and costly litigation.

"I'm pleased that the House has approved this legislation that upholds the Constitution and gives our nation's businesses legal certainty so that they can focus on expanding their companies, hiring new employees, and growing our economy. Job creation and economic growth comes from the free-enterprise system, not through excessive regulation."
