Inhofe Earns 'Friend of Farm Bureau' Award

Press Release

Location: Washington, DC

U.S. Sen. Jim Inhofe, (R-Okla.) was honored with the "Friend of Farm Bureau" award from the American Farm Bureau Federation and the Oklahoma Farm Bureau for his support of critical agriculture and farm issues during the 112th Congress.

"The agriculture industry continues to bear the brunt of a growing, intrusive federal government," said Inhofe. "Sky-rocketing fuel costs and intrusive government regulations are making it more difficult for Oklahoma's farmers and ranchers to bring their goods to the marketplace. I am pleased to be recognized by the American Farm Bureau Federation and the Oklahoma Farm Bureau for my dedication to Oklahoma's farmers and ranchers."

Mike Spradling, President of the Oklahoma Farm Bureau added, "Sen. Inhofe has consistently demonstrated a strong understanding and compassion for rural and agricultural issues. Sen. Inhofe has been recognized once again for his support of issues important to Oklahoma and valued by the American Farm Bureau Federation. This award was presented in the spirit of appreciation and gratitude for a longstanding career representing and protecting our rural way of life."

In 2010, Sen. Inhofe was awarded the American Farm Bureau Federation's highest recognition for members of Congress, the "Golden Plow" award.
