Congressman Patrick Meehan (PA-07), member of the House Homeland Security Committee and former United States Attorney, issued the following statement regarding the terrorist attack at the Boston Marathon:
"I send my deepest condolences to those who lost a loved one in yesterday's attack and my prayers are with the many critically injured, and with the entire city of Boston. This is an unspeakable tragedy, and together as a nation we mourn the lives lost and pray for the victims.
"At this time, it is unknown who is responsible for this attack. But it is clear that this was an act of terrorism. The full weight of the U.S Intelligence Community and law enforcement is working doggedly to determine who did this and why. Investigators remain in close contact with Homeland Security officials, law enforcement personnel and with Congress to provide the latest updates on the situation."
