U.S. Senator Kelly Ayotte (R-NH), a member of the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee, released this statement following today's explosions near the finish line of the Boston Marathon:

"Citizens across New England and the nation are sickened by what appears to be a cowardly act of terrorism. All Americans stand with the people of Boston, and my thoughts and prayers are with the victims and their families."
