Gov. Signs Bill Assisting Small Business

Statement

Governor Sean Parnell today signed House Bill 15, lifting burdens on small business owners related to commercial vehicles. These smaller vehicles, generally used by small to mid-sized Alaska companies, do not require the same level of regulation and inspection as larger commercial vehicles used by bigger companies.

"This legislation will help Alaska small business owners reduce transportation costs and eliminate regulatory red tape," Governor Parnell said. "There is no reason these business owners should be hurt by unnecessary costs and burdensome regulations."

House Bill 15 was sponsored by Representatives Wes Keller and Doug Isaacson and supported by the Alaska Trucking Association and the National Federation of Independent Business.
