Congressman J. Randy Forbes (VA-04) released the following statement today in response to President Obama's proposed FY2014 budget.
"Two months behind schedule and failing to reflect the legal realities of sequestration, the utility of the President's budget is questionable. However, to the degree this budget reflects a vision for America, the President has made it clear his vision has not changed. The budget proposal continues to call for additional taxes, further villainizes the success of those in the business community, weakens our national security, and never achieves a point at which the federal government takes in as much as it spends. We cannot continue on a path of reckless spending and then ask families, businesses, seniors and service members to shoulder the burden to reduce our nation's deficit. The status quo, and this vision for America, is no longer acceptable."
