Guthrie Supports House Republican Budget

Statement

Date: March 12, 2013
Location: Washington, DC

Congressman Brett Guthrie (KY-02) issued the following statement today after upon the release of the House Republican budget, which was introduced by Congressman Paul Ryan (WI-01):

"Today House Republicans presented a responsible plan to balance the budget in 10 years. I stand with my colleagues in putting forward a commonsense proposal that strengthens our entitlement programs, repeals Obamacare, and puts the fiscal health of our nation first.

"We have a choice of two futures -- one that continues on a track of reckless, out of control spending or one that eliminates waste and will produce a healthier economy that allows for job creation.

"Tomorrow, Senate Democrats plan to introduce their first budget in four years. Not only will it never balance, but it is expected to raise taxes by $1 trillion. This is not responsible governing. Refusing to address our long-term fiscal health will be detrimental. American families live on a budget and it's time Washington does the same."
