Rep. David B. McKinley, P.E. (R-W.Va.) voted Tuesday to cut the budgets of all House Committees by 11 percent.
"Congress needs to operate on the same principle as any American family: if you don't have the money in your budget, you don't spend it until you get your fiscal house in order," said Rep. McKinley.
"Since 2011, the operational budgets for Congressional offices have already been cut over 11 percent," added McKinley. "Now with sequestration or across-the-board cuts in effect, Congress needs to cut even more."
"Rather than grandstanding and cutting tours like the White House has done, Members of Congress and Committees are simply tightening their belts and doing more with less," said Rep. McKinley
