Congressman Doc Hastings released the following statement on the passage of the House Budget Resolution, which passed the House of Representatives today by a vote of 221-207:
"President Obama has failed to follow the law and submit a budget on time to Congress 4 out of the last 5 years. Today, the House of Representatives carried out one of its most inherent responsibilities and approved a budget that would balance in 10 years without raising taxes. This balanced plan expands opportunities for all Americans. It enables small businesses to create new jobs, removes loopholes and simplifies our tax code, provides more affordable energy, strengthens Medicare for future generations, and helps Americans enjoy a more secure retirement. I hope President Obama and Senate Democrats will work with the House of Representatives to balance the budget and help American families enjoy real prosperity."
