Senator Dan Coats (R-Ind.) today supported an amendment to withhold funding for Obamacare during Senate debate on legislation to fund the federal government through the rest of the fiscal year.
"With 23 million Americans out of work and $16.7 trillion of national debt, the priority of Congress should be to grow the economy and restore our fiscal books," said Coats. "Obamacare burdens Hoosier families and businesses with higher costs and unaffordable taxes, strains state budgets and puts America deeper into debt. I will not waiver from my commitment to Hoosiers to fight for a repeal of Obamacare so we can replace it with a health care system that puts patients first, increases the quality of care and decreases costs."
The amendment, introduced by Senator Ted Cruz (R-Texas), failed 45 to 52.
