McMorris Rodgers Votes to Keep Government Open

House Republican Conference Chair Cathy McMorris Rodgers (R-WA) today released the following statement after the House passed a continuing resolution to fund the government through September 30:

"Every American knows we can't spend more money than we take in. Moms, dads, seniors, young people - just like the group of Millennials who came to Capitol Hill last week to express their concern over the national debt - everyone knows that Washington spending is out of control. Today the House took action to stop this perpetual cycle of out-of-control spending by passing a continuing resolution that will keep the government open and fulfill our obligation to the American people as we work to get our county on the path to fiscal sanity.

"I urge the U.S. Senate to pass this continuing resolution, so that we can work together on the all-important goal of creating more jobs and opportunity for all Americans."
