Hagan Releases App to Help North Carolinians Stay Connected

Press Release

Location: Unknown

U.S. Senator Kay Hagan released a free app today that will allow North Carolinians to stay connected with her as she works on their behalf in Washington, DC and around the state. Hagan's app allows North Carolinians to easily contact her office, watch videos, view photos and receive real-time social media updates of her latest efforts and events. Hagan is one of only a handful of U.S. Senators to introduce an app.

"My new app will allow North Carolinians to stay updated on my work to create jobs, reduce our deficit and advocate for our seniors, students and military service members," Hagan said. "Constituent service is one of my top priorities, and this new tool will make contacting my office easier than ever. I look forward to continuing to find innovative ways to connect with the people of our state, and I hope North Carolinians find this new app an easy way tostay connected as they juggle the demands of everyday life."

The new tool builds on Hagan's efforts to make her office as open and accessible as possible. Hagan continues to be a leader in the Senate in using social media and new technologies to communicate with her constituents. In addition to the new app, Hagan regularly communicates with North Carolinians on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram (senatorkayhagan). Last year, Hagan hosted her first-ever Twitter town hall to discuss jobs and the economy.

Hagan's office has closed more than 20,000 constituent cases, and she has five offices around North Carolina to serve constituents from every corner of the state. Hagan also welcomes North Carolinians to her Washington, DC office each Wednesday when the Senate is in session to share a cup of Carolina Coffee and a Krispy Kreme doughnut. As part of her "Conversations with Kay" series, Hagan hosted open town hall meetings with residents in all 100 counties in North Carolina.
