Representative Mark Meadows (NC-11) released the following statement regarding the president's visit to North Carolina's 11th Congressional District.

"I welcome President Obama to Western North Carolina, but I encourage him to leave the empty rhetoric at home and take a look at the real world. In the real world, factories are shutting down and hardworking families are struggling to make ends meet because of his failed policies. With double-digit unemployment in the region, Western North Carolinians have truly felt the effects of the president's tax-and-spend agenda and regulatory burdens. And now, the same folks who have struggled under the president's watch will face an even bigger hit if he doesn't bring forward a credible plan to replace his sequester.

"In the real world, the president's policies are not working. I encourage him to take the time today to speak with the families and businesses who are suffering under his economic agenda."
