Kirkpatrick Statement on the Start of Sequestration

U.S. Representative Ann Kirkpatrick, D-Ariz., released the following statement today as the reckless, across-the-board budget cuts known as sequestration begin to take effect:

"I had hoped to see both parties work together to find a balanced approach of revenue and cuts in order to stop the sequester. Now that these across-the-board cuts are under way, I will fight on behalf of District One and Arizona to protect our local economies, schools, national parks and tribes. My office will work to be a resource on how sequestration may impact our constituents. We will provide updates whenever possible to the press and public, and in the coming days we will launch a resource page at kirkpatrick.house.gov to provide more information. Once again, I urge Congress to work together and swiftly resolve this very serious challenge."
