Steven wants what every parent wants: a good education for his children. As a father of three, he has always viewed education as an investment in the future. That's why in the Nevada Legislature he stood up against budget cuts that would have created crowded classrooms, siphoned funds away from school maintenance, and resulted in laying off thousands of teachers.

As someone who attended college with the help of scholarships and financial aid, Steven knows the importance of an affordable quality education. He was able to help his siblings attend college on a limited budget, but like most middle-class families, paying for school was not easy.

Steven believes that student aid and financial assistance for those who have done everything right in their academic careers should never be out of reach. He believes that if you have performed in the classroom, you should be able to attend college and pursue the career you want, and that America's higher education system should be within reach of talented students from every socioeconomic class because it is the right thing to do, it strengthens the economy and positions our country to lead.

Steven's top priority will always be to put our children first: every student deserves an equal opportunity to succeed and fair shot at a bright future. To secure those opportunities, Steven wants Representatives to step up to the plate, live up to their end of the bargain, and make sure America's K-12 schools are fully funded and our colleges and universities are affordable.
