U.S. Senator Mark Pryor released the following statement regarding the Senate passage of the Violence Against Women Reauthorization Act, a bipartisan bill that holds offenders accountable and provides supportive services to victims of domestic violence. The bill will now head to the U.S. House of Representatives.
Today's vote is a win for women and children who have experienced--or continue to suffer from--domestic violence. This bill will ensure victims receive the support and resources they need to recover, rebuild, and move forward with their lives. I hope the House will act swiftly to pass this bill, and put to an end to the cycle of abuse once and for all.
