Congressman Kenny Marchant (TX-24) issued the following statement after the Steering Committee selected him to serve on the Education and Workforce Committee.
Congressman Marchant: "I am honored that Chairman Kline and the Steering Committee have chosen me to serve as a senior member of the Education and Workforce Committee. I last served on the committee in the 110th Congress and look forward to rejoining my colleagues. Serving on this committee will allow me to play a more significant role in shaping policies impacting education, health, pensions, and the workforce. I look forward to working with Chairman Kline and the other members of the committee in the 113th Congress. I will continue to serve as a member of the influential House Committee on Ways and Means, the chief tax-writing committee in Congress, in addition to my new committee obligations."
Chairman Kline: "I am pleased to welcome Representative Marchant back to the House Education and the Workforce Committee. Kenny has served this committee well in the past, offering smart solutions to the challenges facing America's workplaces and schools. I look forward to working with him in the 113th Congress."
