Cicilline Statement on State of the Union Address

Location: Washington, DC

U.S. Congressman David N. Cicilline (D-RI) issued the following statement tonight:

"I applaud President Obama for articulating a bold agenda for his second term and I'm especially pleased that he focused on the number one issue facing our country today -- jobs. The President understands that if we want to get our country back on the right track, we have to invest in those areas that are essential to growing our economy and strengthening the middle class. We are facing tremendous challenges both at home and abroad, and it's critical that Republicans and Democrats start working together on the commonsense goals that President Obama outlined tonight -- reinvigorating manufacturing, investing in our infrastructure, making education a priority, and developing new sources of clean energy. I am committed to working with my colleagues on both sides of the aisle to find common ground and real solutions that will move our country forward."
