Cicilline Statement on USPS Five-Day Delivery Proposal

Statement

Date: Feb. 6, 2013
Location: Washington, DC
Issues: Infrastructure

U.S. Congressman David N. Cicilline (D-RI), who is a co-sponsor of legislation supporting the continuation of a six-day USPS delivery schedule (H. Res. 30), issued the following statement today:

"Today's announcement is unfortunate news for hardworking Postal Service employees across our state and also for seniors and small business owners who rely on the USPS to provide high-quality services that include a six-day delivery schedule. Make no mistake -- I disagree with the decision made by the USPS and will keep fighting to ensure that the Postal Service continues to meet the needs of Rhode Islanders."
