Location: Washington, DC

On Monday, Maryland Congressman Chris Van Hollen visited Westminster, MD to speak with health care providers, nonprofit organizations, small business owners, and community leaders about issues facing Carroll County.

He toured Access Carroll's new facility and spoke with Executive Director Tammy Black about its cutting-edge work to coordinate patient care. He visited with the nonprofit organizations based in the Carroll Nonprofit Center and learned about the important work they're doing for children, adults, and seniors across the county. And he spoke at a briefing at Overton & Associates with community and business leaders, including Westminster Mayor Kevin Utz, City Council President Damian Halstad, and Council Members Robert Wack and Tony Chiavacci, about economic issues facing the community and ways to work together on a bipartisan basis.

"Westminster is a perfect example of the great work being done in communities across Carroll County, and I look forward to working with local leaders as the new Congress gets underway," said Congressman Van Hollen. "We have lots of challenges -- and opportunities -- facing our state and our country, and I know we can tackle them if we're willing to work together."
