Congressman John Fleming released the following statement after President Obama delivered his remarks on immigration reform:
"President Obama continues to perpetuate the myth that our border security is good and simply needs some enhancement. While the Obama economy has done wonders to discourage illegal immigration, the fact is our borders are still not secure. In addition, a broken visa policy has led to millions of people who have overstayed their visas and remain here illegally. But the president is ready to look right past these two crucial issues in his push for amnesty for illegal aliens. Mr. President, until we've secured the borders and fixed the visa system, your proposal is a nonstarter. We must find a permanent resolution to stop the flow of illegal individuals into our country. Once that's done, then we can talk."
